People are looking for ways to lose weight to get a healthy and ideal body. There are many diet plans out there with their advantages and disadvantages, and one of them is the Paleo diet, but, what exactly is a Paleo diet? Here’s the explanation of Paleo diet, foods that you can or can’t eat:

What is the Paleo Diet?

The paleo diet, is a way of eating that is claimed to have been followed by prehistoric humans, so, a paleo diet usually consists of lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds; but, if you look closely, it also includes eating entire items that people might hypothetically hunt or gather.

People that follow this diet plan believe this type of eating able to: lower inflammation, improve workouts, boost energy, aid weight reduction, control blood sugar, and even lower the risk of chronic diseases.

Foods you can or can’t eat

As previously stated, we eat food that hunted in ancient times,  hence foods that can be consumed on the paleo diet include:

Foods for paleo diet
  • Fruit and Vegetables
  • Fish and other seafood
  • Eggs
  • Nuts and Seeds
  • Grass-fed meats
  • Healthy Oils (such as Olive Oil, Walnut Oil, Coconut Oil)
Dairy products

Foods that you should avoid:

  • Grains
  • Salt
  • Processed foods
  • Artificial sweeteners
  • Dairy products

It is recommended to eat the foods mentioned above and replacing the foods that should be avoided with the recommended foods.

Benefits of a Paleo diet

In the near run, a paleo food plan may help you lose weight, increase insulin sensitivity, and lower blood pressure. Since we eat foods that are low in calories and without salt, it is certain that we will experience weight loss, especially not consuming high-processed foods. Insulin is important to manage our blood sugar levels, increasing in insulin affects the blood sugar level, it lowers it and minimizes the risk of diabetics.
